1Step 1: Get Your Learner's Permit
Before behind-the-wheel lessons begin, you need a NY State learner's permit. We help you understand what the written knowledge test covers and how to prepare so you pass it at your local DMV office serving the Long Island City area.
2Step 2: Complete the 5-Hour Pre-Licensing Course
New York State requires all new drivers to complete the 5-hour pre-licensing course before booking a road test. Ferrari Driving School offers this course at our Long Island City location with multiple session options each week.
3Step 3: Take Your Driving Lessons
With your permit and 5-hour certificate in hand, your behind-the-wheel training begins. Your certified instructor builds your skills through real LIC driving, covering everything from the residential blocks of Hunters Point to Jackson Avenue, Vernon Boulevard, and the approach roads to the Queensboro Bridge.
4Step 4: Schedule Your Road Test
When your instructor confirms you are ready, we help you prepare for and schedule your NY DMV road test. Students in Long Island City typically test at the Astoria or Kissena Park test sites, and we practice the specific routes used at both locations.
